Information in Our Care

Who is responsible

Reading the website

This is a static editorial website. Its page code does not include advertising trackers, analytics services, embedded social widgets or an external AI service. Images, styles and scripts are requested from this website rather than third-party image or font providers.

Delivering a web page necessarily involves network information such as an IP address and the requested resource. Hosting infrastructure may record technical request information, including time, browser details and error or security events. Such information is used for delivery, troubleshooting and protection of the service, not to build advertising profiles. Where personal data is processed for these purposes, the basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website.

The local note tool

The Contact page prepares text within your browser. The fields are not submitted to us by the tool, and the script does not save drafts to localStorage. Copying uses your clipboard; downloading creates a local text file. Browser autofill, device backups and session restoration are governed by your device and browser settings.

If you later paste the note into an email and send it, the email is a separate communication. Your email provider and our email service process that communication as part of delivery.

Email correspondence

If you email us, we receive your address, message and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use this to respond, assess corrections and maintain relevant editorial records. Our basis is our legitimate interest in handling correspondence and maintaining accurate content. We may also retain information where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose. Routine enquiries should not become permanent visitor records. Material needed to document a correction or resolve a continuing matter may be retained longer. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or confidential third-party material.

Browser storage

The Cookies page offers an optional control to save your storage choice. If used, it writes one localStorage entry on your device. No optional tracking service is activated by either choice. You can remove the entry on that page or through your browser settings. See Small Files, Clear Choices for details.

Recipients and international processing

Hosting and email service providers may process information needed to operate those services under applicable arrangements. We do not sell personal information or disclose correspondence for advertising. We may disclose information when legally required or when necessary to protect legitimate legal rights.

Provider infrastructure may involve processing outside the United Kingdom. Where restricted transfers of personal data occur, appropriate safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism must apply. Contact us if you need information relevant to a particular communication.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or obtain portable data where applicable. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.

Send requests to the email above. We may need proportionate information to verify identity. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contacting us first is welcome but is not a condition of your right to complain.
